Jeff Handmaker to present paper at the annual Dutch-Flemish Socio-legal Studies Association conference
ISS senior lecturer, Dr Jeff Handmaker (part of the Governance, Law and Social Justice research group at ISS) will participate in the 2018 Annual VSR Conference on 'Law in Other Contexts', organized on 11 and 12 January in Groningen by the Vereniging voor de Sociaalwetenschappelijke bestudering van het Recht (the Dutch-Flemish Socio-legal Studies Association).
He will present a paper entitled: ‘Ethno-nationalist lawfare against Sinti, Roma and Travelers and the legal mobilization challenge’.
His paper forms part of a panel on Legal Mobilization as a Counterpower to Ethnonationalist Lawfare organized by Handmaker and Professor Sanne Taekema of the Integrating Normative and Functional Approaches to the Rule of law (INFAR) research project.
