In this article, which appeared on the OpenDemocracy website, senior lecturer Kristen Cheney discusses foreign adoption and what constitutes quality research in this field.
In particular she discusses the critism by the Leiden University Knowledge Centre for Adoption and Foster Care (ADOC) on a report (in Dutch) by the Council for the Administration of Criminal Justice and Protection of Juveniles) advising the Dutch minister of security and justice to ban all foreign adoptions.
