Opening Academic Year 2015-2016

Beatrice de Graaf gastspreker bij Opening Academisch Jaar

Beatrice de Graaf, Professor History of International Relations & Global Governance at Utrecht University and Chair of the Dutch Science Agenda (Nationale Wetenschapsagenda), is to deliver the guest lecture at the Opening of the Academic Year of Erasmus University Rotterdam on Monday 31 August 2015. On that day, the new Polak Building will also be opened. 

Beatrice de Graaf (1976) is, together with (former rector of Erasmus University) Alexander Rinnooy Kan, chair of the Dutch Science Agenda (Nationale Wetenschapsagenda). People were invited to send in questions for this agenda, with 11,700 entries as a result. The Dutch Science Agenda will be presented at the end of November.

Pauline van der Meer Mohr, President of the Executive Board, will deliver the opening address. At the end of the ceremony, the University Awards will be presented. Concluding the formal part of the event, Rector Magnificus Professor Huibert Pols will open the Academic Year 2015 - 2016.

The official ceremony in the Auditorium starts at 15.30 and will end at 16.30, followed by the official opening of the new multifunctional educational Polak Building at 16.45.
