As of 2 January 2023, Robert Dur, Professor of Economics at Erasmus School of Economics, has been appointed as a member of the Policy Evaluation Advisory Committee by decision of the Minister of Finance.

Ministries carry out policy evaluations to gain insight into the effects of policies. They use the results to learn what is going well or what could be improved, and to account for the policies pursued.

The Policy Evaluation Committee's task is to advise on the design of all policy reviews and a number of policy evaluations. The committee consists of a chairman and eight other members, who are appointed by the Minister of Finance.

Robert Dur is Professor of economics in the Department of Economics of Erasmus School of Economics and a research fellow of the Tinbergen Institute, CESifo Munich and IZA Bonn. Since 2018, he has also been President of the Royal Dutch Economic Association (Koninklijke Vereniging voor de Staathuishoudkunde).
