Two Foreign Affairs Ministers to pay visit to Erasmus University

Twee ministers van Buitenlandse Zaken bezoeken Erasmus

The French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Marc Ayrault, will be visiting Erasmus University Rotterdam on Monday, 21 November 2016, in the company of his Dutch counterpart Bert Koenders. The two dignitaries will meet with students at the Erasmus Pavilion to discuss the future of the European Union – against the backdrop of Brexit, the current refugee crisis and the tensions along the EU’s external borders.

On Monday 21 November, the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Marc Ayrault, will be paying a visit to the Netherlands, accompanied by his Dutch colleague Bert Koenders. One of the items on the Minister’s programme is an interactive session with some 215 students at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Discussion
The students will be assembling at the Erasmus Pavilion to talk with the two Ministers about the future of the EU, in a discussion monitored by Professor Dr Fabian Amtenbrink (Erasmus School of Law). Which impact will Brexit have on Europe? How should we deal with growing instability along the EU’s external borders? And how should the EU respond to migration flows and other global developments?

Jean-Marc Ayrault and Bert Koenders will be introducing this session, followed by a Q&A. Students have been invited to submit their questions beforehand.
