Profile
Anna Priante is Assistant Professor at the Department of Technology and Operations Management (Business Information Management section) at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
Anna’s research is at the intersection of sociology and information systems. She studies organizational forms produced by Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), and the intertwined online and offline network dynamics of such organizational forms. In particular, she investigates how the structure of social networks develops over time and affects online and offline individual and collective behaviors. More broadly, Anna aims at gaining insights into the role of ICTs in creating societal impact and promoting social change.
Her work has been published in leading multi-disciplinary journals including New Media & Society and Social Networks and has appeared in multiple international conferences (Academy of Management Annual Meeting, Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, American Sociology Association Annual Meeting, and International Sunbelt Social Network Conference).
Anna holds a Ph.D. with a Sociology major from the University of Twente (The Netherlands), a MSc in Sociology and Social Research and a BSc in Sociology from the University of Trento (Italy). Before joining the Rotterdam School of Management, she was Assistant Professor at the Department of Business Administration (Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Innovation Management research group) at the University of Twente. In addition, she has been a visiting scholar on multiple occasions at the Department of Sociology of the University of California, Los Angeles.
