Mark Straver (Rotterdam, 13 December 1990) is PhD candidate and lecturer at the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication.

His PhD research focuses on the global shipbuilding industry and shipyards in the Netherlands after 1945. In short, it aims to explain the rise and fall of shipbuilding in the Netherlands between 1945 and 1983. The research is embedded within the Research Centre for Modern Maritime History (RCMMH) and part of a larger project that studies the modern maritime history in the Netherlands (1850-2000).
