Profile
Martijn has strong interests in social theory and different conceptions of healthcare, politics and practice. His current research project focusses on regulatory pressures and changing relations in healthcare governance in the Netherlands. Empirical examples are “a policy experiment with free pricing arrangements in Dutch dental care” and “the shifting roles and practices of general practitioners”. Before starting his PhD project at the Healthcare Governance Group, Martijn worked as a junior researcher at Wageningen University, focusing on historical and tourism geographies.
