Student International Bachelor Arts and Culture

“Art has been a part of my life ever since I was a little child. I’ve been playing violin since the age of five and I’ve also tried multiple other disciplines like visual arts, animation and ballet. After graduating from high school I wasn’t sure which direction to go. I was interested in many things, music was still a big part of my life, but I never wanted to pursue a career as a professional artist. After hours spent on the internet browsing through different undergraduate courses, I discovered IBACS. I was immediately interested, as it offered variety of subjects from history to economics and was related to something that I truly enjoy – art”

An exciting and overwhelming year

“My first year was both exciting and overwhelming. I had to process a lot of new information at once which was quite daunting. However throughout the year I met many interesting people from all around the world, gained new insights into the field of arts and culture, and found friends who enjoy music, dance and photography, just like me.”

Always something going on

“I think Rotterdam is a great city for living, especially for students. There is always something going on, be it festivals, exhibitions or concerts. The university itself has a broad range of student associations and extracurricular activities, which makes it really easy to pursue your hobbies and meet like-minded people. A big advantage is also that the international community here is huge, which makes one feel at home instantly.”
