Introduction
Erasmus University Rotterdam Library is looking for a driven, academically grounded professional to take on a dual role: Team Lead and Faculty Liaison within the Data Team of Library Research Support.
You will be the bridge between academic research and library services. As Faculty Liaison, you are the primary contact and face of the University Library for the faculties of ESHPM (Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management) and ESSB (Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences). As Team Lead, you will coordinate the Data Support Team and shape the strategic development of open research infrastructure by exploring and implementing sustainable, digitally autonomous solutions.
This role is for someone who is at home in the academic world, understands how researchers think and work, and who does not just understand Open Science but wants to actively shape it.
Job description
As Faculty Liaison
You serve as the primary point of contact for academic and support staff within ESHPM and ESSB - Pedagogical Sciences.
You maintain and strengthen relationships between the University Library and both faculties, proactively identifying developments in research and education.
You are responsible for acquisition of scholarly content, maintain contacts with publishers and manage specific content budgets.
You contribute to University Library-wide projects and collaborate closely with fellow Faculty Liaisons.
As Data Support Lead
You coordinate and lead the Data Support team, which consists of ten professionals with diverse areas of expertise, facilitating effective collaboration.
You support your team members in their personal and professional development, including through development conversations.
You promote effective collaboration with the research data community (within the team, the University Library, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and at a national level).
You keep up to date with developments in the field of research data and research data infrastructures, and translate these into high-quality services.
You guide the implementation of the team's annual, ensuring alignment with the strategic priorities of the University Library, and contribute to the development of future strategies and plans for the team.
You contribute to strategic workforce planning.
Job requirements
A master's degree, preferably in a social or health science–related discipline.
Knowledge of and experience with Open Science, open data, and open research infrastructure.
Experience working in or with academia — as a researcher, information specialist, or in a comparable role.
Experience conducting advanced literature research.
Experience in a leadership role with responsibility for HR-related tasks, such as staff support, performance appraisal, and professional development.
Excellent communication skills in English; willingness to develop Dutch to C1 level.
A collaborative personality that builds bridges across disciplines, teams, and organisational levels.

We offer you an internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with excellent working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU).
The start date of this position will be agreed upon and you will be based at Campus Woudestein - Rotterdam at the University Library (UL). This position is for 0.8-1.0 FTE. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of € 4,925 to a maximum of € 6,682 gross per month (scale 11) on a fulltime basis (38 hours), in accordance with the CAO-NU. The contract is offered for a period of 1 year and can be converted into an employment contract for an indefinite period if suitability is proven and if continued in the same position, if (financial and/or organizational) circumstances remain the same.
