ESHCC course information

On this page you will find all you need to know to register for your courses during your exchange. This includes the registration procedure, the registration period and the course offer. Please read and follow all the information on this page carefully before registering for courses.

Please note that this page is for:

  • Exchange students from the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication (ESHCC).

Exchange students from other faculties than ESHCC can go to this page to discover their options.

Please carefully note the following requirements and restrictions:

  • ESHCC exchange students should follow at least 50% of their total number of courses within their host department (i.e. Arts & Culture Studies, History, or Communication & Media).
  • Students who wish to follow courses in their field of study at the home university, will have priority.
  • We have a limited number of spots for exchange students per course.
  • Undergraduate (Bachelor) students can ONLY take BA courses. Master students can take MA & BA courses. The level of the available courses is specified in the course offer overview.
  • Courses not mentioned in the overview are NOT open to exchange students.
  • More information on the content of the course can be found by searching for the course code (CMxxxx) in the EUR Course Catalogue
  • Thoroughly check the timetable to avoid any overlap with the schedules of your courses. The check includes class days and exam days.

Below you can find the courses available for academic year 2023-2024. Courses not mentioned in the overview are NOT open to exchange students.

More information on the content of the below courses can be found by searching for the course code (CMxxxx/CHxxxx/CCxxxx) in the EUR Course Catalogue.

Available courses

You can download the course offer overviews below.

We will make sure to update this list in case of changes. So, please make sure to always look for the most recent version of the files.

As soon as the registration period opens, you will be able to fill out a form on OSIRIS by going to OSIRIS > Case > Start new case > ESHCC Incoming Exchange – Course Registrations.

In this form you will be asked to indicate how many courses you want to take per term, and to list at least 4-5 preferences. In situations where the demand for a course is too high to accept all the students who apply, the Studyplans will be processed in the order they are received (following a first-come, first-serve basis).

Note that:

  • We urge you to not use multiple devices simultaneously to access Osiris as it will strain the system and cause technical issues or crashes!
  • Remember to disable your pop-up blocker when opening OSIRIS Case.
  • We have a limited number of spots for exchange students per course; please take into consideration that you might not get your initial preference(s). Therefore, please only list courses in your form that you would be interested in doing.
  • Via courses.eur.nl, make sure you read the course descriptions and view the timetables to determine which courses you wish to submit as your course interests.
  • Always carefully check the schedules of your preferred courses to make sure they do not take place at the same time.

About a week after the deadline has passed, you will receive an email (in your EUR student mailbox) with your assigned course(s). Please be patient; there's no need to email us for when this email comes.
