Children in Rotterdam.

Schools play an important role in providing equal educational opportunities. Connecting with schools is therefore an important avenue for our Early Outreach efforts.

In close collaboration with the Science Hub (WK|EUR) and the Erasmus Ambassador Office (EAO), the Early Outreach programme is developing new educational programmes and teacher professionalization programmes that better match the needs and wishes of (future) students who are historically underrepresented in higher education. The programmes form a series of connected outreach programmes that run from the first year of primary education to the final year of secondary education, with the aim of developing personal, social, and academic skills that facilitate the transition into higher education. Our programmes will be implemented and evaluated in selected Early Outreach partner schools in the larger Rotterdam area.

Do you work at a school and are you interested in existing programmes and services of WK|EUR and EAO? The Science Hub at EUR brings science to the classroom through educational programmes and professionalization of educators based on the concept of inquiry-based learning. By providing stimulating and investigative education for primary and secondary schools students, we strive for maximum talent development. In addition, the Erasmus Ambassador Office provides several advice and guidance services on study choice processes for secondary school students.
