Students from other faculties can in principle participate in the (optional) courses offered. For some courses, a maximum number of elective students or participants applies.
How to prepare your application
Deadline for application: six weeks before the start of the elective
- Orientate yourself to the offerings through Erasmus MC's education catalog. In the practical information you will find out if an elective is open to external students.
- Mail your choice, motivation (including relevant previous and current education) and a letter of approval from the examination board of your own programme to the education coordinator of the programme that offers your chosen elective. The contact information can be found here.
- Application deadline: six weeks before the start of the elective.
- At the latest four weeks after application, you will receive a decision by e-mail.
- Register via Studielink for the program: External electives Master EMC
- In Studielink you state that you want to pay with a 'Proof of Paid Tuition Fee’ (BBC). Depending on whether the educational institution supports this, the BBC can be requested digitally and forwarded via Studielink. If the educational institution does not support a digital request, you can request the BBC from the student administration department of your own educational institution. They will send it digitally to our student administration department. You will then be exempt from paying tuition fees. (Please note: if you are enrolled as a master's student in a publicly funded program at another institution and you want to take a bachelor's elective with us, you will need to enroll in a bachelor's program for which you pay the institutional rate (since you already have a bachelor's degree). This usually involves high fees.
Please ensure that we receive your Proof of Tuition Fee Payment two weeks before the start of your elective course.
- Within 24 hours of submitting your request for enrollment via Studielink, you will receive an ERNA account by email. You will need this account later to access the educational materials.
