Academic writing online 4 weeks

Introduction

Are you an ambitious bachelor or master student of Erasmus University Rotterdam? Do you already have some experience with writing an essay? And do you want to improve your writing skills? Use the following training session in preparation for writing your thesis or paper.

You will gain experience with various aspects of scientific writing by doing assignments. In addition, you give (and receive) feedback through the electronic learning environment. You will learn from good examples of others and become aware of your own mistakes and those of others. The teacher facilitates the peer review and feedback process. 

Use this online course as a refresher course or in preparation for writing your thesis or paper. You will learn to improve your texts according to the rules and conventions and practice different situations, like: 

• structure of texts;
• developing an argument;
• improving discourse;
• style and use of language;
• writing good paragraphs;
• accessing literature sources and applying this to your writing;
• self-reflection and peer review.
