Advanced Methodology

Gain in-depth knowledge of advanced research techniques, including experimental designs and multilevel modeling.

Below, you can learn more about the courses in this area:

ECTs 5                                                                                                   Starting month May

This course integrates measurement, hypothesis testing, experimentation, and causal inference into a unified framework, highlighting their interdependencies. It emphasizes the assumptions underlying each stage—from psychometric measurement to experimental design and causal analysis—through practical exercises and examples.

By the end, participants will be able to critically assess and articulate the explicit and implicit assumptions in experimental and non-experimental research.

ECTs 1                                                                                                 Starting month May

This course focuses on analyzing nested data where traditional OLS assumptions are violated, using multilevel (mixed) models. Students will first learn to assess and restructure data for hypothesis testing, then apply frequentist multilevel models—mainly in within-participant and longitudinal contexts.

The course emphasizes practical skills in data wrangling and analysis, with R programming proficiency recommended.
