Open Science is about making your research more transparent, accessible, and engaged with both academic and societal communities. From hypothesis to publication, embracing Open Science practices can boost your research quality, visibility, and impact.
Open Science MOOC
Looking to get started with Open Science? Our free online course, A Starter's Guide to Open Science, offers practical insights into open research practices and data management. The MOOC is used in training across our PhD programmes (in a flipped classroom approach) and aims to normalise open science practices among both researchers and support staff.
The MOOC was developed by ERIM and ERS, and funded by a grant from EUR’s strategy office through the Stepping Up Professional Services (SUPS) initiative. ERIM co-financed the MOOC in-kind.
Past OS Campaigns
Between 2021 and 2023, we ran a three-year Open Science initiative to encourage ERIM researchers to explore and adopt open research practices. Each year, we hosted campaigns in March and October, focusing on themes like transparency, collaboration, and the use of open science tools.

Open Science Champions
During the initiative, we recognised researchers who took part in our campaigns and adopted Open Science tools. Participants received exclusive pins, which could be collected on a special Open Science Champion calendar.
