Transition to Sustainability in Law & Markets (ToSLAM)

Stad en snelwegen in de nacht

The overarching mission of the Department of Law & Markets (L&M) is to develop and deliver cutting-edge, high-quality research and teaching on legal institutions and actors shaping markets and their implications for sustainability and socio-economic justice.

This research cluster based in Rotterdam specifically studies legal and societal problems in the complex dynamics of international, European and domestic regulation regarding trade, technology, industry, investment, energy and climate change. Researchers have different profiles, including public law, international and EU law, legal theory, and commercial law, and the Department is keen on facilitating multidisciplinary research. Within this Cluster for Transition of Sustainability in Law & Markets (ToSLAM) our mission is to create positive societal impact by focusing on the sustainable transition starting from a legal perspective.
