On Sunday 7 April, over 200 runners participated in the Erasmus Charity Run, a special part of the official Marathon Rotterdam. All runners were welcomed by an outrageous crowd, from start to finish, in our beautiful Rotterdam. You can never forget this experience!

That morning started early with a speech by rector magnificus Rutger Engels and the chairman of the Trust Fund Michiel Muller. This was followed by a joint warm-up. Just after nine o'clock the runners headed for the starting field. The quarter marathon started at half past nine in the neighbourhood of the cube houses. The marathon runners started half an hour later at the beginning of the Erasmusburg. And what a wonderful sight it was to see all those runners go!
Running for scholarships
The runners of the Erasmus Charity Run were sponsored, making it possible for students who have insufficient financial means to study at Erasmus University Rotterdam. In total almost 12,000 euros have been raised (and the counter is not standing still).
