This thesis discusses heart failure epidemic and the population-attributable risk for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) in the Rotterdam Study cohort over three decades, investigates the potential novel risk factors of HF and other CVDs from an etiological perspective, and explores how to improve the risk prediction for HF in the general population.

There is no possibility of entrance during the first part of the ceremony.
