Dissertation in short:

This thesis objective is to contribute to the knowledge about the diagnostic pathway and active surveillance of prostate cancer by addressing two main questions: “Can MRI and
multivariable risk stratification reduce unnecessary testing and costs in the diagnostic workup of prostate cancer?” (part 1, diagnosing prostate cancer), and “Can a personalized
approach with multivariable risk-assessment and MRI reduce overtesting in active surveillance” (part 2, active surveillance).
