Below is a brief summary of the dissertation:

Degenerative aortic valve stenosis is the most common valve disorder in the Western world. Due to an aging population, the incidence of aortic valve stenosis will increase, and with it, the number of patients requiring valve replacement. This thesis focuses on optimizing patient selection, the procedure, and follow-up, so that hospitals can cope with this increased demand.
