Below is a brief summary of the dissertation:

This PhD thesis investigates the effectiveness of remote haemodynamic monitoring and other strategies to improve heart failure (HF) management. The first part focuses on the CardioMEMS HF system, a sensor that measures pulmonary artery pressure to detect early signs of worsening HF. The MONITOR-HF trial, presented here, is the first European randomized study to test this technology in a setting with contemporary standards of care. The study showed that using this sensor significantly improves the quality of life for HF patients and reduces hospitalizations. The second part explores the use of serial biomarker measurements as complementary tools for congestion monitoring. The final part focuses on optimizing medical therapy for heart failure, with a special emphasis on the TITRATE-HF study, which investigates how the implementation of guideline-directed medical therapy can be improved.
