Dissertation in short:

The aim of this thesis was to establish prognostic factors in patients with lung and oropharynx cancer treated with stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), which can be used to optimize treatment and patient selection. SBRT is an advanced, resource-intensive method of delivering radiotherapy. At present, there are limited prospective trials to guide patient selection. This thesis determines prognostic factors in early stage lung cancer treated with SBRT, develops a nomogram for predicting survival, and reports long term outcomes/prognostic factors for oropharynx cancer patients treated with SBRT.
