Are you or do you know a student who has done something extraordinary last year? Then send in your nomination for the Student of the Year election! Open until April 10!

Submit your nomination for Student of the Year now! Studium Generale and Erasmus Magazine are looking for students who have gone out of their way to help others. The nomination round is open until April 10. The winner will be announced on May 31.

Do you know a student who is always there for everyone? Or someone who has accomplished something special within the study, outside the study, in club life or anywhere else? If the student's efforts are selfless and social, you can reward them with a nomination for Student of the Year.

Is there a student who always offers a listening ear within your association? Someone who brought groceries when the whole dorm was sick? Maybe you know a student who works for the climate, for people in poverty, against loneliness or something completely different. What someone has worked for, it doesn't matter. You can nominate one student, not a group.

Nominations open on March 23th 12:00h

Nominating is simple. Just fill out this form: https://www.erasmusmagazine.nl/2023/03/22/nomineer-nu-een-student-voor-de-student-van-het-jaar-verkiezing/

How to proceed

Who will succeed Sandra Garstka as Student of the Year? We will know the answer to that question after the live show on May 31. After the close of the nomination round, a jury consisting of staff and students will look at the entries. This year's jury consists of:

  • Sandra Gartska, winner Student of the Year 2022
  • Jos van der Geest, teacher of the year of Erasmus MC
  • Nizar El Manouzi, student and presenter of TV show Klokhuis
  • Samira van Bohemen, project leader Erasmus Love Lab
  • Martine Wierenga, director International Office

They will select the five students who will advance to the public round. On May 4, the online ballots will open. These votes are one-third of the final results. The jury vote counts for one-third and the votes in the audience on May 31 also count for one-third.

What can be won?

In addition to eternal glory, the Student of the Year will receive a cash prize and a trophy.

Wednesday, May 31, during the awards show in the Erasmus Paviljoen, we will look back at exceptional students of the past year and announce the winner.
