Within EUR, there is growing interest in Open Education; the sharing of educational content by and for teachers. It is also high on the agenda for higher education at the national level. Npuls, a programme in which all Dutch universities, universities of applied sciences, and MBOs collaborate on educational innovation and digitization, puts Open Education as one of its key focus areas. Sector facilities are being created, such as Edusources, which can be used by all institutions. This makes sharing content, also between institutions, much easier.
In this CLI Lunch & Learn, two project leaders, who are committed to sharing educational materials, will share their experiences. Tanisha Bachasing focuses on Teacher Development. There is currently high demand for training materials for teachers on AI in education. These materials are being developed everywhere but can also be exchanged, both between universities and with universities of applied sciences and MBOs. Tanisha aims to facilitate this knowledge sharing together with the institutions and Npuls. Mathijs Doets (Erasmus MC) already has experience with Edusources for sharing educational materials among teachers. With support from Npuls, he contributes to the open sharing of 70 virtual patient cases by eight university medical centers, including Erasmus MC. Mathijs will show us how Edusources works and share his experiences with using Edusources and the associated communities.
The University Library provides support for the open sharing of educational materials through digital sector facilities like Edusources and the creation of Open Textbooks via Wikiwijs. A service point has been set up at the University Library, and a lot of useful information is being shared to help teachers who want to openly share their educational materials. The University Library will demonstrate what this support looks like.
