The master specialisation Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship at Erasmus University Rotterdam is ranked as best master in the world among fifty programmes in the field of Cultural and Creative Industries Management, according to the ‘Eduniversal Ranking Best Masters’.

For many years, the master specialisation Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship had been ranked first in The Netherlands and second in the world. This year, Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship has taken the first place in the world ranking by Eduniversal.

The Eduniversal Ranking is based on three pillars: the reputation of the master programme, graduates’ reports on the quality of their study experience, and their salary of the first employment. Master programmes get bonus points when they offer an international classroom, if at least 20% of the graduates do an internship or work abroad, and if the programme offers distance learning. As the Master Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship does not feature internships nor distance learning, its top rank documents outstanding results regarding all other criteria.

“We are well aware that our students and alumni value our master. The programme is truly international and diverse, our approach to the study of the cultural industries is rather unique, and many of our graduates quickly take up attractive positions in many different areas of the cultural and creative industries, both in the Netherlands and abroad. Students appreciate our team’s dedication to teaching, our international background, as well as our expertise and passion for harnessing cultural economics to foster the cultural sector.

This ranking is a confirmation of the hard work of our lecturers, but also of the talent of our students, who use their time with us to qualify themselves for becoming part of a new generation of changemakers in the cultural and creative industries”.
