Impact

The Erasmus Charity Run is an example of how Erasmus University fulfils its ambition of making an impact on society. Runners in the Charity Run raise funds for scholarships that enable talented young people to obtain an academic education despite coming from a disadvantaged background.

Erasmus University Rotterdam had the biggest team during the Marathon Rotterdam. The majority of participants ran the 10.5 km event while nineteen runners actually took part in the full marathon. The participants in the Charity Run assembled at Erasmus University College in the centre of the city on Sunday morning where they warmed up for their events.

Rector Magnificus Prof. Huibert Pols: “The Erasmus Charity Run unites our students, alumni, employees and faculties. It gives us a feeling of community; the Erasmus University community.”
