Ina Sjerps appointed as strategic adviser to EUR Executive Board

As of 1 November 2018, Ina Sjerps LL.M will be supporting Erasmus University Rotterdam as Strategic Adviser to the Executive Board. Ms Sjerps is currently employed by the Municipality of Rotterdam as municipal secretary and general manager.

The Executive Board is very pleased with Ms Sjerps’ decision to join the University team. With her knowledge, expertise and extensive network in the Netherlands and abroad, Ina Sjerps can significantly contribute as a strategic adviser to the realisation of Erasmus University’s strategic objectives. EUR is presently working on the formulation of a new strategy.

About Ina Sjerps

Ina Sjerps (1959) graduated in Dutch Law and Political Science (specialising in International Relations and International Law) from the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Over the course of her career, she has taken on a variety of management roles in the public sector, consistently on the interface of politics, governance and organisation.

Among other positions, Sjerps has worked as managing director of the UvA’s Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Labour Studies (AIAS) and as director of Servicecentrum Drechtsteden. In 2011, she started working as municipal secretary for the Municipality of De Ronde Venen, followed by an appointment as municipal secretary/general manager of the Municipality of Apeldoorn and, currently, the Municipality of Rotterdam.
