Redefining Africa

Een andere kijk op Afrika

‘Redefining Africa’ is this year's theme of the African Business Day on Thursday, May 19th, 2016. In this way organizer Association for Students of African Heritage (ASAH) wants to tell a different story about Africa: not a disadvantaged continent, but a well of opportunities.

The purpose of the event is to give students in the Netherlands a new perspective on the fast-growing continent that is Africa and to educate them on the many possibilities and opportunities available on the continent. This year our theme will focus around "Redefining Africa", as we aim to change the narrative about Africa from a disadvantaged continent to a well of opportunities

During the day there are speeches by guest speakers, interactive workshops, keynote sessions, professional networking sessions with current and future leaders of Africa and personal stories. The guest speakers include Gbenga Ajayi (Digital Marketing Consultant, Sub-Saharan Africa at Google), the Ghanaian entrepreneur Nana Kwame Bediako and Nigerian writer and physician Uzodinma Iweala. .
