Today, Prof. Sijbren Cnossen (Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis, Erasmus School of Economics) and Prof. Bas Jacobs (Erasmus School of Economics) presented their book 'Ontwerp voor een Beter Belastingstelsel' to Dutch State Secretary for Finance, Menno Snel.

The book contains building blocks for fundamental tax reforms. The recommendations have been written by the professors, as well as scientists and policy experts from the Netherlands and abroad. The 'outside looking in' approach of the book contributes to the discussion for a better tax system in the Netherlands, which is currently deemed unnecessarily inefficient, encourages tax evasion, and has high implementation and compliance costs.

Download the book and read the full press release here (in Dutch).
