Biography
**Ingmar Franken** is a full professor at the Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Clinical Psychology group at the Department of Psychology, Education and Child Studies. He obtained his PhD in 2003 within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Amsterdam. His research interest is mainly focused on the neurocognitive aspects of addiction and substance abuse and is committed to a “From Lab to Society” research idea, which aims at a strong mutual connection between basic experimental research and clinical practice and health promotion. He presented at several prestigious national and international scientific meetings and has successfully secured governmental and private funding for supporting his research, such as the prestigious VENI and VIDI grant. He has successfully supervised 24 PhD students. He is member of the editorial boards of Drug and Alcohol Dependence, and European Addiction Research. He acts as a reviewer for more than 60 scientific journals and scientific organizations such as the ERC. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed scientific articles. He is main editor of two Dutch handbooks for professionals, “Psychopathology” and “Handbook of Addiction”. Research interests: Clinical Psychology, Addiction.
