What you will learn
The programme offers you a mixture of theoretical and research-focused courses. In the theoretical courses the emphasis will lie on getting you up to speed with the basics of economic theory, cultural policy and cultural industries. You will address questions like ‘how do markets work?’, ‘what are the justification for spending public money on the arts?’, what are the frameworks in which cultural industries have to operate?’ In the research-focused courses you will learn how to formulate relevant and correct research questions, how to choose right research methods to investigate those questions, and how to use them correctly and critically.
