"Before I decided to study IBCoM, I was pursuing a bachelor in Economics and Finance in the United States. Since I immediately decided to go to university as soon as I graduated from high school, I made a decision that did not truly appeal to me academically or professionally. After 2 years of pursuing a study that did not suit me, I decided to look for an alternative that spoke more to me as a student."

An ever-changing field

"Since I had heard about Erasmus University before and the academic prestige that came with studying at this university, I decided to explore the website and see what options were available. IBCoM spoke to me the most precisely due to the dynamic and creative nature of the contemporary communication and media profession that is ever-changing. This field would expose me to an increasingly global and diverse working environment where I could later venture into the world of either marketing or public relations. Furthermore, media has become the dominant social institution of the 21st century, so I was interested in exploring the impact of mediatization in other elements of society, like politics for example."

Nothing like any other city

"Beside the fact that this was an international bachelor that would expose me to individuals from around the world, I was particularly excited to know that I could choose a minor to pursue later on and also would get the opportunity to do an internship. This, combined with the vibrant and modern architectural environment of Rotterdam was precisely the change I was looking for. Rotterdam is nothing like any other city in the Netherlands and the diverse music and artistic scene complement my studies perfectly."
