"Where to begin… Is what I felt during my final year of high school? The only thing I knew for sure is that I wanted to study something related to arts and culture. Besides that, having studied bilingual education during my high school years, I was motivated on continuing on my learning in English. The combination of both international education as well as the study’s broad and multidisciplinary approach is what finally triggered me into applying for IBACS. I can tell you one thing... So far it has been absolutely the opposite of being boring."

"Throughout the first year of the international Bachelor of Arts and Culture studies, divided into four separate terms, you’ll be occupied with several courses that vary from the history of arts and culture, to economics, to organization of arts and culture, all the way to modern day media. During the organized tutorials I was able to discuss, debate and share my existing knowledge as well as learn new things from people from all over the world."

"Still, you might wonder: why Rotterdam? In full honesty I did not expect Rotterdam as a city to be quite as wonderful as I think it is now. A real happening is how I would describe it. Not only in the arts and culture sector but also as a culturally vibrant place. The study seems to be somehow made for Rotterdam and vice versa. It is interesting to combine that what you’ll learn about the sociological organizational economical and historical aspects of the art world to that what you see happening in the city during events such as IFFR (international film festival Rotterdam) and the Rotterdam Night of the Museums."
