"My name is Sahil and I work at Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences. I've been hearing impaired since the age of four, and I communicate using sign language. If colleagues speak slowly and clearly, I can understand them very well. Although it obviously takes both sides some getting used to.
While I was learning the job, I had a sign language interpreter. Erasmus University Rotterdam takes the trouble to employ people with a work disability through the Jobs and Jobs Quota Act, and I'm one of them. I really enjoy my work and I hope to stay here for a long time."
