Clerk University Council

"As the clerk of the University Council (UC), I am closely involved in the various topics that are being discussed within Erasmus University Rotterdam. Although I mainly focus on processes, it is also very interesting for me to gain insight into substantive discussions.

Before I became the clerk of the UC, I worked as a student assistant at the Legal Department of Erasmus University Rotterdam. In this position I was less able to gain substantive insight into university-wide topics. As a clerk - and employee of Administrative Affairs – I do get this opportunity and I also get to know more about the realisation of EUR policies."

Cooperation between Executive Board and the University Council

"As a clerk I am also involved in the cooperation between the University Council and the Executive Board. It is interesting to see how negotiations and cooperations between the University Council and the Executive Board take place. Together, the University Council and the Executive Board are trying to improve EUR policies and to improve our university. I try to support this process through good cooperation with my colleagues.

As a lawyer - I graduated from the Erasmus School of Law in June - I like to focus my attention on laws, regulations and the procedures that follow. The majority of the University Council has no legal background, which means that I play a major role in the interpretation of the laws and regulations. My strength lies in following and making procedures for the UC, so that the support is getting better and better.

I want to support the University Council as well as possible to help the EUR move forward."
