Introduction
We are looking for a research assistant for a project funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO): Verbs and Eyewitness Testimony: A Multilab Registered Replication Report. This is a large-scale, international collaboration.
Job description
The research assistant will contribute to several key aspects of the project, including writing and maintaining experimental software code, developing and refining experimental stimuli, and running studies in the lab. The role may also involve assisting with data management, ensuring that materials are implemented consistently across labs, and supporting the coordination of experimental procedures within the broader international collaboration.
Job requirements
We are looking for a candidate with a strong interest in cognitive psychology and a solid background in research methods. The ideal applicant is comfortable working with experimental designs, understands core principles of data collection and analysis, and is motivated to contribute to a collaborative research environment. Experience with programming in R is required for data handling and analysis, and familiarity with Qualtrics is essential for designing and implementing online experiments.
The research assistant will work closely with the principal investigators, supporting them in the development and execution of the project rather than working independently. We are therefore looking for someone who is dependable, works accurately, and has strong communication skills, as the role involves coordination within an international team. Proficiency in both Dutch and English is required (level C1): Dutch for the creation of stimuli and communication with participants, and English for communication with collaborating researchers.
Employment conditions and benefits
We offer you an internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with excellent working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU).
The start date of this position is to be discussed and you will be based at Campus Woudestein in Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences (ESSB). This position is for 0.1 fte. The salary is € 3.057 gross per month Scale 7 on a fulltime basis (38 hours), in accordance with the CAO-NU. The contract is offered for a period of 1 year. You will be employed via EUR or EURflex.
