Programme overview

Management of International Social Challenges

The study programme in a nutshell

In the first year of the MISOC programme, you are introduced to the management of international social challenges by following introductory courses in policy, management and organisation, governance, research methods, and the core disciplines (such as political science, economics, or law).

In the second year, you will take advanced courses in public policy, management, research methods, as well as courses that will give you more background in the management of international social challenges.

In the third year, you start to specialise by choosing to participate in a minor from an adjacent field, go on exchange to one of our 76 international partner universities (limited spots available), or do an internship at a relevant organisation in the Netherlands or abroad. You also take specialised courses in global governance, as well as courses in management and public policy, and at the end of the year (and programme), show what you have learned by writing a bachelor's thesis on a relevant subject.
