At the request of the International Institute of Social Studies the Language & Training Centre (LTC) organises the course Academic Writing writing for their students in the period November 2026-January 2027. The course consists of seven two hour sessions and is taught at the ISS in The Hague. An written assessment is part of the selection procedure for this courses. Marking these assignments is part of this assignment.

Four times per year the Language & Training Centre (LTC) organises assessments English for (prospective) EUR students. Each assessment consists of three parts: a written component, an oral component, and a computer-based Quick Placement Test (QPT). The oral component is conducted online via Teams by the teacher. The written component (an essay of about 350 words) is graded by the teacher, and the QPT results are evaluated to complete an assessment form with feedback on the participants’ different language skills. The level of English will be expressed according to the CEFR framework.

The first assessment round will take place in the week of 2 November; the second round in the week of 23 November. The following assessment periods will be scheduled in March and April 2027.

At the request of the The Erasmus School of Economics Career Skills programme, the Language & Training Centre (LTC) organises the course English for Business Purposes for bachelor students in the period 26 October through 11 December 2026. The course consists of seven two hour sessions and is taught at Woudestein campus. Students work on their Business English writing skills, and practice their presentation skills in English.

Eight times per year, the Language & Training Centre (LTC) organises English intake assessments for (prospective) students of the Onderwijsroute HBO/WO. 

Each intake consists of three parts: a written component, an oral component, and a reading test.The oral component is conducted online via Microsoft Teams by the teacher. Each interview lasts 15 minutes, followed by a 5‑minute break; after every four interviews there is an additional 15‑minute break. The written component (two short assignments) and the reading test (one text with questions) are graded by the teacher. Based on all results, the teacher completes an assessment form with feedback on the participant’s language skills. The level of English is expressed according to the CEFR framework.

The first intake round will take place in the week of 28 September; the second round in the week of 23 November. In 2027, intake rounds will be scheduled in January, February, April, May, July, August, September, and November (usually in the last week of the month).
