The Pre-Master Philosophy is tailored to talented and motivated students with a strong passion for philosophy. Your background may be in any discipline, from social sciences or humanities, to beta studies.
Diploma requirements
You can apply if:
You have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. At least a Dutch ‘hbo’ degree (Dutch Higher Vocational Education) with a good overall result, or an equivalent higher vocational qualification from an international institution (university of applied sciences / arts academy).
Students who have not yet obtained their degree may already apply if they expect to graduate before starting with this pre-master.
Additional admission criteria
- you completed at least 60 EC of courses in English in your bachelor degree.
- you obtained at least 7.0/10 as a final grade for English in high school (VWO or equivalent).
- you are a native speaker.
Or:
- IELTS Academic (International English language Testing System) with a minimum score of 7.0 overall. All sub scores should at least be 6.5.
- TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 100. All sub scores should at least be 23.
- ITP-TOEFL (Institutional Testing Programme) offered by the Language & Training Centre at the EUR, or any other Dutch University. Minimum requirement: 627.
- Cambridge C1 Advanced or Cambridge C2 Proficiency with a minimum score of at least 185.
Only one of the options above needs to be met.
