On February 19, the Netherlands Student Orchestra will perform at De Doelen in Rotterdam, one of the last concerts of their month-long tour! This national project orchestra brings together ambitious young students who, in addition to their studies, perform classical music at the highest level. Ninety talented students put their textbooks aside for a month to make music at the highest level.
Under the baton of conductor Arjan Tien, they will shine alongside violinist Noa Wildschut in Sergei Prokofiev's Second Violin Concerto. The brand-new composition by emerging composer Arjan Linker is bursting with energy and showcases the power of today's young composers.
As its main work, the orchestra will play two suites from Maurice Ravel's masterpiece ‘Daphnis et Chloé’ – grand, enchanting, and compelling.
This year's tour theme is ‘Untamed’: a month full of passion, energy, and unprecedented musical freedom!
