Below is a brief summary of the dissertation:
This thesis explores how artificial intelligence (AI) can help doctors diagnose and classify prostate cancer (PCa) using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). It examines two main types of AI approaches: radiomics, which focuses on analyzing specific imaging features, and deep learning (DL), which uses
computer algorithms that learn from large amounts of data. The goal is to find ways that AI might support clinical decisions in prostate cancer care, making diagnosis more accurate and consistent. This research shows that AI could play a valuable role in diagnosing prostate cancer. Furthermore, this thesis describes strengths and weakness for radiomics, and DL based on previously published scientific data and experiments performed by the author.
