Sector plans

Campus Woudestein.

The government invests in higher education and research through sector plans. The aim is to encourage collaboration between universities and to create stability and breathing space by strengthening the foundations of education and research. Sector plans set out agreements and priorities, clarifying which institution focuses on which areas of expertise and which disciplines.

Our university is involved in two sectors:

Five sector plans at EUR

These sectors are further divided into five sector plans. The sector plan for medical and health sciences focuses on the themes of prevention, data-driven innovation and the pathway from fundamental research to application.

In the social sciences, the focus is on strengthening the discipline of educational science, teacher training programmes and interdisciplinary themes such as resilience in young people.

The humanities plan focuses on investment in languages and cultures and the themes of humane AI, cultural heritage and identity. In addition, there is collaboration on the theme ‘Prosperity, participation and citizenship in a digital world’.

The Law sector plan focuses on Empirical Legal Studies, Digital Legal Studies, conflict-resolving institutions, the transformative impact of globalisation on the law, and the reassessment of public interests in private relationships.

This is the implementation of the sector plans at our university:
