Want your group to get to know each other in a spontaneous and unexpected way? Do this activity where students tell facts about themselves that they think they are the only ones in the group. But are they? Or are there more people like them? Let's find out!

Step-by-step

Step 1

Introduce the icebreaker. Tell that today the students will get to know each other in a different way, because do the students actually have things in common or are they unique in some things?

Step 2

Explain the icebreaker in steps: Soon one of you will start with a statement, which you think you are the only one who does or likes. You tell that person to stand up and the statement begins with the sentence: ''I think I am the only one who...''.

Step 3

You then tell the group that they can stand up if they like or do the same.

Step 4

Now the group sees how many people actually do or like something or whether it is indeed a unique concept.

Tip 1

Instead of standing, have students write down 'Like you' on a paper and have them hold it up when they recognise the statement.

Pen and paper to write down 'Like you'.
