Sandra Constantinou Juhasz

Student member of the University Council (2022-2023)

Sandra Constantinou Juhasz is third-year student International Bachelor in Psychology (ESSB) and a student member of the University Council (UC). Why did she want to be part of the UC and what did she acchieve and learn?

Why did you choose to put yourself up for candidacy at the University Council?

"In my first council year, I was driven by my interest in politics and my motivation to represent underrepresented groups. By the end of my term, I had learned the ropes and felt that, given an additional year, I could pursue change more effectively. And here I am now, concluding my second council term!"

What did you want to change when you started as a council member?

"Frankly, a lot. As a covid fresher I saw a lot of prospects in digitalising education, and I wanted to see it done in a more effective way. I also wanted to improve conditions for international students, which I can proudly say have massively improved compared to when I started my studies here!"

How has your experience been so far?

"Interesting, to say the least. I've learned the complications behind EUR's structure, and gained a huge amount of respect for the faces most students don't see but that work tirelessly to ensure that EUR is still standing. Being a UC member has definitely contributed to my personal development in ways I did not predict, for which I am thankful."
