Erasmus Port Campus is a new initiative. It aims to bring the port to the campus. Erasmus UPT and SmartPort@Erasmus collaborated with Young port talent of the year Koen Jellema to create an event that makes the connection between the academic world and the latest developments in the port.
Theme of the day was "Digitization in ports; Lifting smart logistics to a higher level." Important speakers such as Rommert Dekker (- Professor Quantitative Logistics at Erasmus School of Economics), Daan Vroom(EUR alumnus and founder/owner of ShipX) and Carmit Glik (Cogoport) held insightful presentations on how digital freight platforms in Europe and AI are changing the logistical branches.
It was not only listening. Students were challenged in a collaboration game, led by Natasa Roukouni and Donald Baan. Erasmus Port Campus is a perfect example on making science work and on creating a valuable contribution in knowledge sharing for port and transport economics.
