Healthcare is in constant flux. New technological and organizational innovations change healthcare practices and regulation on an almost permanent basis. In this theme, we study such changes, with a particular focus on how they affect healthcare work and regulation. Themes within this line of work concern the decentralization of care to municipalities; the distribution of tasks between professional groups and the rise of new professions such as the nurse practitioner, as well as task divisions between healthcare workers, patients and informal carers.
