Locations and directions

The Erasmus University Library has multiple locations in Rotterdam and The Hague. The main location is the University Library on the Woudestein campus. You will find the address, contact details and visitor information for each location below.

Directions, parking and accessibility

  • How to reach the Library by public transport or car.
  • Parking on the Woudestein Campus.
  • There is one accessible parking space on Collegelaan, near the library. For more information, see the Parking procedure with an EU disabled parking card.
  • If you are travelling by bicycle or scooter, please park it in one of the racks or spots on Collegelaan, next to the Library.
  • There are two entrances: via the skybridge from the Tinbergen Building, or via Collegelaan if you’re coming from Kralingse Zoom.
  • There is one lift, centrally located in the Library.
  • Wheelchair-accessible toilets are located on the ground and first floors.
  • You can find more information about facilities for visitors with disabilities regarding the building, studying, borrowing and reading here.

Please note: due to renovations at the Tinbergen Building, the Institutenlaan is closed. The Library can be reached by visitors via Collegelaan from Kralingse Zoom or Burgemeester Oudlaan (blue walking route 1), or from Erasmus Plaza via the E and G Buildings (red walking route 3).

  • Building and study areas: Mon–Fri 8:00 - 23:00, Sat-Sun 9:00 - 23:00
  • Information desk: Mon-Fri 9:00 - 19:00, Sat-Sun 10:00 – 14:00 
  • Always check the current opening hours in case of holidays or emergencies.

Study areas

The University Library is a public space open to all. For EUR students, it is also an inspiring and pleasant place to study. They can reserve a suitable study space via our booking system.

Other locations

A library featuring a unique heritage collection, contemporary fiction, and titles on history, art, philosophy, and many other subjects. The Leeskabinet is open to everyone. EUR staff and students receive free membership.

The ISS Library has a collection of English-language literature in the social sciences, focusing on the economic and social development of developing countries and countries in transition. The Library is open to everyone, but we ask staff and students from outside EUR to notify us of their visit in advance, either by phone or via the contact form.

Library with an extensive legal collection, including all the required reading for the bachelor’s and master’s programmes. It offers more than 300 study spaces for EUR students. The library is open to everyone.

Sanders Law Library

The IHS Library collection focuses on urban development, housing, and urban management. Topics covered include sustainability, climate, governance, and socio-spatial issues. IHS students and researchers have free access to the collection. Other EUR students and staff, as well as external visitors, are welcome, but only by appointment.
