Welcome to all (new) students!

Study area in the University Library

The new academic year has started! Whether you are a new student, or are about to start your final year of study, welcome (back) to the University Library (UL).

We asked students what they would have liked to know about the UL as first-year students.

And this is their top 5:

  1. How to use the Lean Library extension on your laptop at home to access the UL's entire online collection without running into a 'paywall' and having to pay for a journal article or e-book.
  2. That we have our own search engine to search for scholarly publications, called sEURch. It's also where you'll find all the textbooks we have digital and in print.
  3. How to find a text book in sEURch and how you can borrow it with your digital student card.
  4. How to reserve a study space and that you can study in the library 7 days a week until 23:00.
  5. That you can come to the information desk with any questions you may have until 19:00 during the week.

Also useful to know:

We also have the Library Guide that offers you directions to find your way in the library and to make you feel at home! It is a bird's-eye view of all services we offer you to start your studies. Pick up your copy at the information desk in the library.
