Supporting EUR-schools in setting up accredited online (pre)master programmes: that is what ErasmusU_Online does. For new students, who have a distance from campus education, and for current EUR students, who can experience more flexibility because they can take an online elective asynchronously.
ErasmusU_Online is a cooperation between the Community for Learning & Innovation (CLI) and the schools. Four schools have already joined ErasmusU_Online:
- Erasmus School of Law's Friday Afternoon Education has already been a pioneer in online education for a few years. The Friday Afternoon Education will now be renewed according to the insights and experiences that were developed during the corona pandemic.
- The master Digitalisation, Surveillance & Societies of the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication will start the development of the fully online programme. Probably this master can already be done from September 2022.
- The premaster Healthcare Management of the Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management also strives to offer a completely online programme as per September 2022.
- Rotterdam School of Management offers its online English Language Premaster Business Administration from September this year.
In the development of an online (pre)master programme, ErasmusU_Online offers a market analysis, carried out in collaboration with the Marketing & Communication department. With this market analysis, the school gains more insight into specific target groups and to what extent a demand exists for the online version of the programme. ErasmusU_Online then works out a business case together with the school. The school and ErasmusU_Online review both the market analysis and the business case and decide if a follow-up process will be initiated. This follow-up comprises of support in the educational design of online education.
Conversations with other programmes and schools are still ongoing; the next update will explain more about that.
